About the Role

About the Company

This organization stands as a respected leader in the construction industry with decades of successful projects across commercial, institutional, and complex builds. The firm pairs long-standing credibility with a forward-looking mindset. Teams value precision, accountability, and relationships. Leadership invests in people, trusts expertise, and rewards ownership.

We are committed to building diverse teams and creating an inclusive environment where all employees can contribute their best work.

The Role

The Senior Estimator plays a central role in shaping winning projects from the earliest stages. This leader owns the estimating process from concept through final pricing and collaborates closely with operations, project management, and executive leadership. The role blends technical depth with sound judgment, clear communication, and strategic thinking.

Salary Range: $110,000 to $150,000 annually (based on experience, certifications, and demonstrated expertise)

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects valued at $5M to $50M+ across multiple delivery methods (design-bid-build, design-build, CM at-risk, IPD)

  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements with accuracy and speed, typically managing 4-8 active estimates simultaneously

  • Develop budgets, conceptual estimates, and GMP pricing aligned with business goals and risk tolerance

  • Partner with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive and reliable pricing while maintaining quality standards

  • Evaluate risk, identify scope gaps, and present value engineering opportunities early in preconstruction

  • Present estimates with clarity and confidence to internal teams, executive leadership, and clients during pitch meetings

  • Support preconstruction strategy and contribute to pursuit planning, bid/no-bid decisions, and proposal development

  • Mentor junior estimators and strengthen departmental estimating standards, templates, and processes

  • Maintain accurate historical cost databases and participate in post-project reviews to improve estimating accuracy

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of estimating experience on commercial construction projects valued at $10M or greater

  • Proven track record managing estimates across multiple project types (office, retail, healthcare, education, or similar)

  • Strong working knowledge of construction methods, materials, labor productivity, and regional cost drivers

  • Experience with estimating software (OnScreen Takeoff, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent) and proficiency in Excel for cost modeling

  • Demonstrated ability to manage 5+ concurrent estimates without sacrificing accuracy or deadlines

  • Clear track record of successful project handoffs to operations with minimal scope/budget issues

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex estimates to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field

  • Professional certification (ASPE CPE, AACE CCP, or similar)

  • Experience with Procore, Sage Estimating, or similar construction management platforms

  • Ground-up estimating experience (not just database/assembly pricing)

  • Familiarity with LEED, sustainable construction methods, or design-build delivery

What Sets This Role Apart

  • Real authority: Leadership values expertise and gives decision-making authority to those closest to the work—your estimates drive strategy, not just support it

  • Meaningful projects: Work carries visibility, community impact, and long-term significance in a growing market

  • Collaborative culture: The firm supports collaboration, trust, and professional respect without bureaucracy or politics

  • Performance-based growth: Compensation and advancement align with results, with documented career progression to executive leadership

  • Stability with innovation: Established reputation meets modern tools and forward-thinking preconstruction approaches

Location & Work Requirements

  • Position based in Atlanta, Georgia

  • Ability to attend project site visits and client meetings throughout metro Atlanta as needed

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $110,000 to $150,000 (placement determined by years of experience, project complexity background, certifications, and estimating accuracy track record)

  • Competitive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and professional development opportunities

  • Additional compensation details will be discussed with qualified candidates during the interview process
